the capital city Lucknow is amongst the most popular tourist destination within the union of Uttar Pradesh. Historical Facts of Lucknow

According to historical call the city was gifted to Laksman by his elder brother Rama after he made a successive invasion in Sri Lanka which in turn completed his long term exile. Following the course of chronicles and evolution the city was later captured by Afghans, Mughals and the British.

During the call of independence city rose as a major centre for militant nationalism and moderate nationalism till the time India clinched its independence. Lucknow before an intrusion of British and other administrator was a seat of Nawabs of Avadh and according to history the first Nawab of the city was Nawab Wazir Sadat Khan who was appointed during the call of 17th century. 

Traveler must understand that during that phase Lucknow was a main centre for political, cultural, artistic and literary renaissance in North India.
