Anini, A Must Visit Place in Arunachal Pradesh







The beautiful town of Anini was previously the district headquarters of Dibang Valley district before it got divide into Lower Dibang Valley
and Upper Dibang Valley. Anini is situated in the Upper Dibang Valley district of the state. The place has been named after the supreme God called Inini of the Mishmi tribe. This scenic town of Arunachal Pradesh is beautifully placed between Dibang River and Mathun River. Its pleasant weather and immense natural beauty makes it a favorite tourist destination among the tourists visiting the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The place is very much popular among the domestic and international tourists because of its towering mountains and the lush green surroundings that seem like a paradise. The town is mainly inhabited by Idu Mishmi tribe and their main occupation is agriculture. Crops that are grown at this place are maize, millet and rice.   

Attractions

Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary and Lake
One of the chief tourist attractions of the region is Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, located at a distance of about 17 km from Roing. The sanctuary covers an area of about 28,105 sq. km and is one of the best places to visit while on a trip to Anini. The sanctuary is very rich in flora and fauna. It is inhabited by diverse varieties of wild animals like wild duck, tiger, red panda, takin, elephant, leopard and many more. There is also a lake within the sanctuary, which covers an area of about 4 sq. km.  

 Hunli
Another tourist attraction of the region is Hunli, located at a distance of about 52 km from Anini. Hunli is a scenic town, which is situated amidst the picturesque valley. The town is popular for offering several breath-taking views.  A cave temple called Kapuli Temple should not be missed while visiting this scenic town of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Sally Lake
While visiting Anini, one should also visit the Sally Lake, which offers breath-taking view of the valley. The lake is located at a distance of just 3 km from Roing. 

Adventure Activities
The place also provides adventure activities like rafting and angling on the Dri River. 

Best Time to Visit
Though the place experiences pleasant climate throughout the year, the best time to visit Anini is between the months of April to June. 

How to Reach 

By Road: Even with its remote location, Anini is well connected through road with Roing (204 km) and other major places of the state. Both private and public bus services are available at regular intervals from Roing to Anini.  

By Rail: The nearest railway stations to Anini are Tinsukia and Dibrugarh, located at a distance of about 300 km and 355 km respectively.  Bus and taxi services are available from outside these stations to Anini. 

By Air: The nearest airport to this place is in Dibrugarh, located at a distance of about 345 km. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoli Airport in Guwahati is the closest international airport to the place, located at a distance of about 800 km. Regular private and public bus services along with taxi services are available from outside these airports to Anini.
