Pristine Lighthouse to Be a Tourist Destination


Lighthouse of Kanhoji Angree maritime coast built during late 18th century is soon to be transform into a tourist hub.
Milind Deora minister of shopping (state) and tourism minister of state Mr. Chiranjivi laid a base stone of the project which is of 45 crore during the event of Saturday and said they are looking forward to build around 15 lighthouses across the nation.

So far as project lines are concern as said by Mr. Deora a lighthouse would include a gallery along with housing and the preservation of fort is also a main highlight of the project beside that a jetty for transportation along with a terminal is addressed under a project.
Along with that a base to save energy is given a priority by initiating solar power system to embrace energy within a state a major aim is to come out with an budget friendly destination where tourist could come and enjoy their day and at the same time it is to develop a ecological ambiance and as said the work is believed to be at its run during the session of 10 months.
After it was bespoke during 1852 a guiding light was erected on near Kanhoji Angre Island earlier known as Kennery but due to its resemblance with Colaba lighthouse it was destroyed  in 1866 and a new work started in 1867 and the island is at the sight of Alibaug  at 90 minutes drive from a motor Launch.
